That pictures in the first post are NOT the PNP. That is the Park Position Switch and NOT the Park/Neutral Position Sensor (PNP). I have located the Park/Neutral. On the Passenger side of the transmission next to the exhaust (catalytic converter?) there is a metal shroud (heat shield) with two small bolts.

Ok, the knock ensor code will not ever be fixed by a bad distributor. You need to replace the Knock Sensor to get rid of the code. The knock sensor is under the intake manifold. I replace them often and the code is never wrong.
