I am 95% sure that it was unfired prior to me owning it. Since I have it I have put 40 rounds of factory ammo through it. (Rem Core-Lokt and Hornady Leverevolution).The .35 Rem.'s ceiling is higher, which is why it wins this category, but don't sleep on the ol' Winchester. Winner: .35 Remington. .30-30 Win. I always clean from the receiver. Just move the lever to the unlock position. Remove the lever screw and take the lever, bolt and ejector out. Watch out for the ejector. That little critter can get away from you and make sure to get it back in right. Simple and will no hurt the bore by cleaning from the muzzle.If you paid under $350, you got a good fair price. If under $200 you stole it. Now, step out and buy a box of Remington 200 grain core lokt bullets and a box of the Hornady Leverevolution and go shoot her to see how she does and which she prefers.
