I've randomly gotten a P16A8 check engine light on my truck about three times now. Whenever it comes up, I just clear it and it goes away. Well the intake heater is a grid in the intake manifold. There is a solenoid mounted near the top of the intake manifold. Check those connections and the connection at the grid. You will have power at one of the main bigger studs all the time on it.
