Firing order for 8n ford tractor.

I posted on here a few months back about being a new tractor owner and replacing disy parts. Rebuilding starter and never checked to see which way disy turned. Can't crank the motor to tell as starter is now dead. After I rebuilt everything , I double checked the firing order and only got a loud backfire before old starter quit.

First verify your firing order..1-2-4-3. If out of order it can run fine, just lack power. Most 9n's never had timing marks on the motor to go by. I've never dealt with the EI, but normally there is a screw on the side of the distributor that adjusts the timing. you loosen the screw then move it up or down to adjust.
